She emerged from the chrysalis
Gently unfolding her wings.
Sleepy eyes opened in wonder.
It had been a long slumber,
the cells of the body transforming into a genetic soup,
to reform again.
Distant memories were coming back,
there had been some accident,
perhaps unimportant now, like fragments of a dream.
Sitting in the sun,
basking in the glory,
the green wings changed light into food.
The cells of the wings containing chlorophyll,
the sugars circulated, the energies felt wonderful,
soon she began to move about.
The wings were not for flying,
at least not here on earth,
but travel to the stars…
The space elevator was a short hop,
by the vacuum tube high speed train,
from there a fast trip to the stars…
Floating along in zero gravity,
the fields of land far below,
the wings took on their true meaning.
Glory be to all creation.
